Tired of Getting Ignored by Investors? 😟

Are you struggling to get investors to notice your startup? In my last startup, I pitched to 350 investors. Most ignored me. Here’s what I learned about getting investors to read your email and take notice. πŸ“§

1. Get a Warm Intro from a Current CEO in Their Portfolio
Build Organic Relationships: Connect with CEOs in the investors' portfolio by offering help with tasks like hiring. Always give before asking. 🀝

2. Be Concise and Confident After the Intro
Make Your Pitch Clear: After securing the VC introduction, keep your communication concise and confident. Avoid looking desperate and simply offer some time to chat. πŸ’¬

3. Keep the Introducing CEO CC’d in All Emails
Maintain Communication: Keep the CEO who introduced you in the loop by CC'ing them in all emails. Expect to send at least two follow-up emails since many investors are not very responsive. πŸ“₯

4. Use Email Tools Like Mixmax to Schedule Emails
Optimize Email Timing: Use tools like Mixmax to schedule your emails at times when they are most likely to be read. πŸ•’

In my book, Underdog Founder, I talk about my fundraising journey and every lesson learned from my many mistakes. Check it out!
