Look at life in decades not years

Today I turn 42. Feel blessed.🙏🏽

• At age 12, I was selling guavas in my barrio in Santo Domingo. I immigrated to the U.S., but my parents were struggling financially, and we were on welfare, so I got a job at C-town packing groceries 

• At 22, I worked as an aircraft mechanic on nights and weekends. I tried going back to college but got rejected from every school. Luckily, I was accepted at Queensborough Community College. I was the oldest student in my class.

• At 32, I had graduated from Wharton with an MBA and co-founded a startup. We got into Y Combinator but struggled to raise capital on demo day.

• At 42, we sold our startup to Mastercard, and then I joined Y Combinator as a visiting partner.

Remember that wherever you are today is not who you will become tomorrow. So dream big and work your ass off, because you never know what the next decade will bring 💪🏾
