The movie Air, the Nike story, is coming out next week. I just finished reading Shoe Dog by Phil Knight, the Nike founder, and it was an incredibly inspiring story. As an ex-founder, I found many valuable lessons to take away from this book.

First and foremost, the importance of persistence cannot be overstated. Phil Knight encountered countless setbacks and obstacles throughout the early years of Nike, but he never gave up. He kept pushing forward, even when things seemed impossible.

Another key lesson from Shoe Dog is the importance of taking risks. Phil Knight and his team took many risks in the early days of Nike, from importing shoes from Japan to launching controversial ad campaigns. These risks paid off in the end, but they were not without their challenges.

Finally, the importance of having a clear vision cannot be overstated. Phil Knight had a clear vision for what he wanted Nike to be, and he never lost sight of that vision. This helped him stay focused and make strategic decisions that ultimately led to Nike's success.

Overall, I highly recommend Shoe Dog to anyone who is interested in entrepreneurship or simply looking for a great read. It's a fascinating story full of valuable lessons and insights.
