The ONE thing by Gary Keller & Jay Papasan

After I read ‘The ONE thing’, it completely changed how I think about goals…

The key concept is to break BIG goals into small increments. Figure out a single goal for one year. Then figure out what's ONE thing you have to do this month so that getting to that 1-year goal is way easier. Then figure out what's ONE thing you have to do this week so that getting to that 1-month goal is way easier.

One of the key takeaways from "The One Thing" is the concept of "time blocking." This involves setting aside a specific block of time each day for your most important task. During this time, you eliminate all distractions and focus solely on completing that one task. By doing so, you can accomplish more in less time and make progress towards your goals faster.

Another important lesson from "The One Thing" is the idea of saying no to distractions. As an entrepreneur, it's easy to get pulled in different directions and say yes to every opportunity that comes your way. However, this can lead to a lack of focus and ultimately hinder your progress towards your goals. The book encourages readers to be selective about what they say yes to and only take on tasks or projects that align with their overall vision.

I read this book while I was a CEO, and it completely overhauled how we set goals at my company. By prioritizing our most important tasks each day, eliminating distractions, and staying true to our vision, we made real progress towards our goals more efficiently than ever before.
